With time often comes change and it was no different with Porsche in the 90’s. The iconic air-cooled engine had gone as far as it could go with the 993 iteration and it was time for an update. With changing emission standards and the need for a more powerful/efficient engine Porsche introduced the 996 in 1999 with its first ever water-cooled engine.

We have for sale a 2004 Porsche 996 C4S Cab finished in Basalt Black Metallic with black leather interior and black soft top. Car is powered by a 3.6 liter flat-six driving all four wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox. The car was originally sold by Carlsen Porsche in Redwood City, California. The car has just 54,845 mi on the odometer. The original window sticker (which will be included) lists the car at $106,420 with exclusive options installed. 

Factory options included; Porsche Communication Mgt.II, Xenon Headlamp Package, Heated Front Seats, Lumbar Support Right/Left Seat, Bose High End Sound Package, Remote CD Changer, Supple Leather Front/Rear.

The Basalt Black metallic paint is in very good condition with only minor road rash on the front bumper. The original 18” twist wheels look to have been refinished and only the rear right wheel has minor scratches. We just installed a new set of Pirelli tires all around. The black soft top and glass are in immaculate condition inside/out and operate as they should. Rear wing functions as it should. Headlights are clean and clear. 

The 3.6 liter engine has only 54,845 miles and runs very well. We are currently doing a full service on the car including replacing the IMS bearing as well as installing a new clutch. Other than those service items, the car is perfect and ready to be enjoyed. 

The black leather interior is in great condition with no rips/tears and has worn well. The car has the Porsche Communication Mgt. II system installed with color Navigation screen. Everything in the interior is in working order and looks great, back seats look nearly untouched. 

Overall this is one of the nicest and rarest 996 Carrera 4S Cabs we have seen and needs absolutely nothing. The wider turbo look coupled with a 6-speed manual and convertible top makes this one of the most sought after 996 models. The 996 stands as one of the best Porsche deals out there and will certainly become a future classic.
