1972 Porsche 911T MFI

Silver Metallic with black leatherette interior

Asking $108,000

We have for sale a very original “blue plate” 1972 Porsche 911T in Silver Metallic with black leatherette interior. Original equipment per the Certificate of Authenticity includes; US equipment, light metal wheels, antenna left w/loudspeaker and noise suppression, comfort equipment for 911T, tinted glass all around, and Dunlop tires. This is our third time selling this excellent ‘survivor’ quality car.

1972 was a year of firsts for Porsche, it was the first year of the 2.4l engine as well as the 915 transmission with no dog-leg first gear. It was also the first and last year of the infamous oil filler door on the passenger side rear fender and the only year the T was built with Mechanical Fuel Injection for the US market (ROW were carbureted)

Not much is known about the original owner but the second owner, George Bulloch purchased the car in San Jose, California in 1991. The bulk of paperwork included with the car is from George’s 22-year tenure. He enjoyed putting miles on the car and eventually had the engine rebuilt at 108,550 miles in 1992 by a specialist in Scotts Valley, CA. Hoping to gain horsepower, George had the MFI system recalibrated to “E” spec and had “S” pistons installed during the rebuild. At the same time, George had the 915 transmission rebuilt by Jerry Woods in Campbell, CA. From then on, George had the car religiously serviced, replacing anything it needed. George enjoyed the car for more than two decades before selling it to its next caretaker, Rolando Saldana in 2013. Rolando is an active Porsche enthusiast and used the car in various rallies and Concours shows up and down the California coast. Rolando drove the car for many years and then sold it to the current owner, a local Laguna Beach resident in 2018.

Over the years the car was really well taken care of. However, being a silver metallic car (Silver Metallic was known for its troublesome clear coats) it was professionally repainted sometime during stewardship and shows extremely well with the correct silver metallic paint. The car is in extremely good condition and runs strong. Everything works and the interior has a really nice patina. The only thing the car needed was a new set of seats (which we had Autos International completely reupholster, including new springs etc.) as the original springs had started to fail. Upon purchase, we will perform a service on the car. Purchase will also include, original tool kit/jack, full-size Fuchs spare, owners manual, Certificate of Authenticity, and a thick binder filled with maintenance history, engine/transmission rebuild, etc. It’s not often you get to sell the same car 3 times, which really speaks to the quality of this one. Nice, original, drivers quality cars are hard to come by, especially clean “blue plate’ Californian cars like this one.

To further accommodate our international clients we can provide worldwide shipping at owner’s expense. We speak English, German, Dutch and French.
